Itinerary:
DAY 1: ARRIVE IN REYKJAVIK
Upon arriving in Reykjavik, arrange transportation from Keflavik Airport to your accommodation in Reykjavik. After checking in, take time to settle in and relax, recovering from your journey. The accommodation’ s central location makes it an ideal base to unwind or explore. In the evening, you can stroll through Reykjavik’ s vibrant city center at your own pace, discovering charming cafes, local shops, and landmarks like Hallgrímskirkja Church.
DAY 2: GOLDEN CIRCLE FULL-DAY TOUR WITH KERID CRATER
Embark on an 8-hour Golden Circle tour to explore southwest Iceland’ s iconic landmarks. Visit the Geysir geothermal area to witness Strokkur erupting every 8 minutes, and marvel at the powerful Gullfoss Waterfall as it cascades into a 32-meter crevice. Discover Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates diverge, and explore its UNESCO-listed rift valley and Viking parliament site. Visit the volcanic crater at Lake Kerið and enjoy views of southern Icelandic farms before returning to Reykjavik.
DAY 3: VOLCANOES AND BLUE LAGOON DAY TRIP
Take a day trip from Reykjavík to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula ‘ s volcanic landscapes and relax in the Blue Lagoon. Begin with a scenic drive past mossy lava fields, hot springs, and Lake Kleifarvatn’s black basalt beaches. Hike 2 hours each way to the Litli-Hrutur volcano, passing the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption site, and witness smoldering lava fields. End the day with a rejuvenating soak in the Blue Lagoon ’ s soothing geothermal waters
DAY 4: SOUTH COAST CLASSIC: FULL-DAY TOUR
Embark on a full-day tour along Iceland’ s stunning south coast, a land of volcanoes, glaciers, and dramatic waterfalls. Walk behind the misty veil of Seljalandsfoss waterfall and enjoy panoramic views from atop Skógafoss. Travel through lava fields and coastal farmlands, with views of the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes and the distant Westman Islands. DAY 5: WHALE WATCHING AND MARINE LIFE CRUISE
Embark on a whale-watching boat trip from Reykjavik’s harbor to explore Iceland’s rich marine life. Spot various species, including minke and humpback whales, harbor porpoises, and more, with peak season running from April to October. Guided by experts, you’ll learn about the whales’ behavior and the region’s wildlife. DAY 6: JÖKULSÁRLÓN GLACIER LAGOON AND DIAMOND BEACH
Embark on a guided tour from Reykjavik to the stunning Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, passing the mighty Hvannadalshnjúkur mountain and the vast black sand desert between Skaftafell National Park and the lagoon. Make stops at Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, where you can walk behind the cascades and admire the powerful 60-meter drop. At Jökulsárlón, stroll along the shores, watching 1,000- to 1,500-year-old icebergs float from the Vatnajökull glacier. Visit Diamond Beach, where chunks of ice contrast against the black sand. DAY 7: DEPARTURE
